The Happiest Place on Earth

You guessed it...Disneyland in the middle of the week at the end of February. We had sooooooo much fun. Nic was a little ill, but even he hung in there and we had a great time!

A few highlights...

Lanais was invited to dance with the cast member from the High School Musical Show. Big deal, I know...But when you are 8 in the year 2009 there are not many things bigger than that.

At California Adventure they have a life size Lightning McQueen and Mater....nuf said!

Yes he is trying to hug that giant car.

Lanais went on her first REAL rollercoaster. I love roller coasters so this was fun!

This is where they shoot you off like a rocket, fun fun fun!

Hunter had a great time as well, he did have a couple of disappointments. He was an 1/8 of an inch too short for Indiana Jones. One lady said he was fine the next guy said no, make a 6 year old cry at Disneyland, isn't that a sin. He did have a great time. He's a fun kid!

We love that place, I was happy to give the kids a mental health day and there is no place on earth that can do it like Disneyland!

My pink Shark

For those of you who do not know me well.... I HATE TO CLEAN!!!!! There is nothing about it that is enjoyable. But of course as an adult it is just one of those things you learn to do and come to an understanding with yourself about it. That being said a few years ago I discover the cordless Shark Vac. I love this thing. I go through 2 or 3 of these handy little vacs sent from heaven every year. Scott has finally stopped complaining about buying them so often. It cleans tile, carpet, hardwood, my futon, the inside of my couches and everywhere else I need this little bugger. Maybe that's why I burn through these suckers so quickly.

A couple of weeks ago the handle on my current Shark broke in half (it is not the first time this has happened). I will save that one for the stairs. Scott came home from Costco the other day with a new one. I think he was tired on stepping on stuff on the floor that would normally be in the Shark's canister. Yesterday I opened my new Shark and to my DELIGHT it is pink. I have a PINK Shark. This pink vacuum cleaner makes me very happy. I used it just now and it just makes my day. Sad, huh? I highly recommend to everyone I know find yourself a pink Shark. It has given me a domestic high! At least I think that's what it is...

Our Family Reunion

Here are some pictures of the kids at the Coleman Family Reunion a couple of weeks ago. We go to Shaver every year with Scott's family and hang out for a few days. This year was fun as usual and it snowed almost the whole time we were there. Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents, and Parents all squeeze into a cabin and play games, sled, ski, snowball fight and anything else we can get away with. We look forward to it every year and every year it does not disappoint. Thanks for a great weekend everybody.

ABC Club

Hunter made the ABC Club at school. Knowing all your letters and their sounds is really important in Kindergarten.

This is his principal Ms. Floth. She is the one he won a lunch date with at the beginning of the year. She drives a black Corvette (that he calls the Batmobile)and she took him to Me N Eds for lunch and Cold Stone for dessert. He now thinks they are on a first name basis and even invited her to come over and watch Spiderman with him.

She keeps telling me to clean the house because she is coming for a movie, I keep telling her she can sit in the mess with the rest of us!

Nic and his Nicness (Yes I made up a new word)

I was going through the pictures I have downloaded since Christmas and I ran across a couple of Nic that I found very funny. One is him playing Guitar Hero, for those of you who fell off the banana boat yesterday, Guitar Hero is a Wii game that you play a fake guitar to the beat of famous rock songs. Half of the songs are before my time and all are before the kids' time, but we LOVE this game and are completely addicted. When Nic is rocking out to oldies but goodies his Nicness is under control. When you stop seeing us around and we keep turning down invitations, you will have to plan an intervention. Here is Nic and our newest love... he is a total rock star!

Next I found a picture of Nic at Karate. He just started. The Dojo Hunter has been going to for a couple of years has a Pee-Wee program and Nic really needs an outlet for ..his Nicness (is that even a word). This is pretty much how Nic does Karate. He runs around smiling and asking Sensei 10,000 questions that Sensei can not answer because he does not understand a word he says. Nic starts Speech Therapy on Wednesday. I would feel bad for Sensei but he seems to like it!

That grin should scare the bejeezers out of anyone with half a brain!

Resolutions

I think a lot about New Year Resolutions every new year but I don't really make a New Year resolution. I am more of a "by the seat of my pants" kind of girl. I really do not like to plan too far ahead. This year I thought it through and decided that I would make a resolution, it never works for other people so it should do wonders for me, right?

I decided to take the easiest resolution I could think of and I decided that my resolution for 2009 would be to be more patient and more affectionate to my husband. (You can all laugh now) I did not tell him about my resolution for the first few days of 09. He was acting so strangely it was getting on my nerves and I thought "Oh Crap, I'm not going to make it through the first week without ripping him a new one. I am a horrible person." Finally, I asked him what his problem was and this is what he said,"You are freaking me out. Are you dying? Am I dying? Why are your being so nice? I don't know whats wrong but you are really freaking me out?"

Nice, huh? That pretty much sums up our life. He is perfectly content with the daily lashings that come along with being married to me (over 14 years ), but the first day I start to be nice and calm, patient and loving I am freaking him out. I don't care if I am "freaking him out" I am sticking to my resolution... he is already a lot less jumpy than he was last week!

A note from Harly

Harly wanted to say...Happy New Year!
and please someone get me outta here!
